Nah, I don't think so, not really. She may have her influences, but I don't think she'll deliberately be trying to sound like Amy. But then, I've heard a limited amount of both so =/

i think she does sound a bit like amy... but doesnt have the same emotion. i like her songs and she has a very powerful voice.

Hahaha come on guys, Amy doesn't deserve such an insult as being compared to Duffy!

Ok now, I think Duffy has been influenced by Amy for sure!
but she's not the only one!
there's a bunch of copycats now, who are called "the new Amys"
they all seem the same repeated story:
they're from England, under 20 ( Amy's age at the begining of her career ), Jazz and Soul sounds and Tina Turner's stylish black voice.
Few examples of this are this girl, Adele, Gabriella Cilmi ( but that one is not from London I think.. )
Anyway, I shouldn't consider this as anything bad..

Amy has created her own mark, a new style which is being known after she used it as hers, and if things get better to her ( I really hope so!!!!! ) she'll be one of the greatest talents and voices and will have a place in Music's History.
She'll be a legend, cause she actually is at 24.
Someone as great as her will be an inspiration for many others!
Remember that Amy hasn't invented this style of music.
She took Ray Charles and few others as her inspiration, the same way other new artists are taking her as theirs.
She should be proud of being such an important inspiration for so many people.

duffy's pretty cool.  a great voice and some cool tunes.  i don't feel she's trying to be like amy at all.  she's probably just singing with a voice that comes naturally to her that, by coincidence of voices sometimes sounding similar, sometimes sounds like amy a bit.

Duffy first single Mercy and her first album Rockferry both made it to Number one in the UK.

She is a great singer ,but not as fantastic as our Amy.

Duffy's album Rockferry did knock Back to black deluxe off the number one spot in the uk album chart .

Yeah i think she does sound abit like Amy. I think Adele does also. But i think this is great.. Amy has influenced so many people just as others did to her. Although saying this, These people probably sounded like this a while ago. I don't think they deliberatly tryed to make their voices sound like Amys, i just think due to the fact of Amy and her music and amazing one of a kind voice, it has given other artists the chance to be bought forward. This is due to Amy's success and being noticed by the public. I just think it's amzing. All the people above have amazing voices. But by far, Amy's is the best! xD. 

i like duffys sound but i think that shes try to get a liittlebit light from amy.i her video shes as littbit the same hair.yeah, duffy has a great voice but amys is a legend.shes a legend and my mummy says to that she had the soulvoice like it kann be.but the people are right .amy dont create the soulmusic.so let us give duffy a chance to make her own thing.maybe amy is a idol for her.be cool.nobody say us what we have to hear.we are a free world.i love amy and i like duffy.so i have no problem with her.

I like Duffy & Amy. I do think the record industry is marketing Duffy as the anti-Amy. She wears simple clothes, simple makeup, and she just sings. The times I've seen Duffy singing on TV, she seems to be really into her music. I wish her much success. I feel sorry that she's going to be compared so much to AJW. MERCY is a good song, but you can almost sing REHAB to the beat !

I think you're all being very unfair.  Duffy is very talented and has an amazing voice.  It's not her (or Adele's) fault that as Amy has been so successful the record companies are latching onto female singers that are influenced by the sixties.

imo, Duffy is the real deal...like Amy.  Very different artists to be appreciated on their own merits.  A very exciting time for female vocalists.  I hope these record companies will smarten up and realize that real talent sells and sign more of these ladies,  giving us a break form the beyonces and ashley simpsons of the world.

 well duffy is not bad she is pretty good i really love her song 'warwick avenue' but amy is way better
